It's always interesting to see how rapidly computers got better and what games ended up left in the dust because of it...
Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at A-10 Tank Killer, a combat flight simulator originally developed and published by Dynamix back in 1989, with a 1991 release published through Sierra On-Line with an additional set of missions added.
For its time, this was a fairly advanced game, with few other combat flight sims showcasing the same degree of simulation accuracy and graphical fidelity, but it came out just as the power of computing technology available to home users started skyrocketing, making this game's shortcomings stand out like a sore thumb as other, better games with similar mechanics began rolling out following. Even the sequel released in 1996 reviewed better at launch than this game did for its launch.

Additional Information and Corrections:
* I should note that I was only showing missions from the first mission set. The graphics do have some differences between the different mission sets, though it's nothing major.
* You also typically equip an ECM jamming pod on your aircraft for each mission as well but the manual is very vague on what this actually does as far as the simulation is concerned and even in-game it's hard to tell if it actually does anything since it's supposed to be 100% automatic in function. :P
