Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame, a cinematic platformer developed and published by Brøderbund in 1993 as a direct sequel to the original Prince of Persia.
This is a rare case of a game that's difficult to comment on because of a combination of two factors: A massive chunk of the raw gameplay revolves around trial and error, while some of the things you're required to do to succeed are not only incredibly specific but run contrary to what you would expect to be the solution. If you know exactly what to do and have the muscle memory to do it right, you can breeze through this game without much difficulty, but if you don't this game will utterly destroy you.
