FMV games were so much better on laserdisc... :P
Today on Ancient DOS Games Gemini's taking a look at Who Shot Johnny Rock? This was an FMV shooting gallery game originally made by American Laser Games in 1991 as an arcade unit utilizing laserdiscs and light guns. This DOS port was released in 1994.
This is actually one of the better games of this nature, to the point where I think it would be fun to get a chance to play the real arcade game, but this DOS port suffers from an EXTREME drop in video quality in order to get the laserdisc footage to fit on a single CD, plus the mouse controls and converted hit-boxes for the lower resolution are both a bit buggy.
Also, cheesy, B-rated movie scripts FTW! ;D

Additional Information and Corrections:
* There seems to be a LOT of confusion in regards to the differences between laserdiscs and compact discs and when you go trying to research this stuff it's very easy to find the wrong info. So, let's try to set things straight: LaserDiscs came before CDs and were used primarily to store NTSC/PAL video and analog audio data. CDs were developed using very similar physical technology to LaserDiscs and were even named "Compact Disc" as a result of being so much smaller, but the data is stored digitally. Even audio data, which some MODERN software confuses as analog audio, is stored in a digital format on a CD. The term "CD-ROM" is used to refer to a CD which stores computerized data as opposed to audio data. The formats are physically similar, but the way content is stored is VERY different. (Ultimately, I should've said laserdiscs could store more "content" than "data".)
