Pretty sure this game can be safely classified as a "fever dream"...
Today for Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look back at Savage, a short but incredibly frantic and difficult action game originally developed by Probe Software and put out in 1988 on various 8-bit home computers, with the DOS port arriving in 1989 being published by MicroProse under their Microplay label.

Additional Information and Corrections:
* If you'd like to grab a copy of the game from GOG, follow this link:
https://www.gog.com/en/game/savage/?pp=91dfde1d6e005e422f64a59776234f1f4c80b5e4
* Or, if you'd prefer to grab it from Steam, follow this link:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1157870/Savage/
* To be fair, even though the GOG release lacks a manual (don't know about the Steam release) the manual itself is only a few pages long and barely goes over much of anything other than the story and loading instructions. :P
