No, the game's not supposed to look like it does in this video... Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at the original Lemmings, an action/puzzle game developed by DMA Design and published by Psygnosis in 1991. Interestingly, I'm actually not a fan of the Lemmings games, even though it should seem by every point of logic that I should be. I go into details about the things I don't like about the game, but in all honesty, it's more a matter of personal preference than anything being majorly wrong with the game. I'm definitely the minority for not enjoying it, but then the world would be a boring place if we all liked only the same things. :B ------------------------------------------ Additional Information and Corrections: * Oddly enough, when you don't set the machine type to "vgaonly", the status bar will be messed up instead of the gameplay. As said, the palette doesn't get emulated right in this thing, at least as far as DOSBox is concerned. * If you do decide to set the machine type to "vgaonly" you may need to set a lower cycles count than the one I suggest, as setting alternate emulation methods like that can affect how fast games go in DOSBox given various cycles counts. :B ------------------------------------------ Pixelmusement Website: http://www.pixelships.com ADG on Pixelmusement: http://www.pixelships.com/adg Alphabetical Index of ADG Episodes: http://www.pixelships.com/adg/index2.html
