Episode Originally Released: January 22nd, 2011 ------------------------------------------ Similar to what happened with Street Fighter and Street Fighter II, when MechWarrior 2 came out, virtually everyone forgot about this original game due to the massive jump in quality. This isn't to say the original MechWarrior is a bad game, but it's definitely showing its age. ------------------------------------------ Additional Information and Corrections: * One of the things I learned quite some time after producing this video is that the mechs TECHNICALLY haven't been plagiarized. See, what ended up happening is that FASA went through all of the rigamarole necessary to use the designs they were interested in using... or so they thought. The company they had licensed the mech designs from may not have actually had the right to do so, at least in the US market, thus the company which did have those rights stepped in and put a stop to everything. This has been a routine problem for all BattleTech and MechWarrior games, as some kind of settlement clause or forgotten bit of legal info keeps curtailing efforts to bring some of these designs back. In response, more modern material actually has redesigns for the older mechs to avoid infringing on the copyrights. * Sorry for the glitch during the mech listing. I didn't catch it until I was half-way through editing. :/ * One thing I forgot to mention is that the sound effects are all PC Speaker based.
