Sierra's old parser-based adventure games had a tendency to be non-linear but also tended to have some extremely ridiculous puzzles to overcome. Space Quest is atypical in this regards as it's a lot more straightforwards and linear and not nearly as challenging, but makes up for this by being something of a parody. :B

* I'm not actually sure how you pronounce "Arcada". I always pronounced it like the word "Arcade".
* While on the Arcada, every so often you'll hear footsteps. When this happens, find somewhere on the screen that you can quickly hide behind so that if something does show up on the other side, they won't burn a hole through you with their weapons! Granted, every so often the message is false and nothing actually shows up.
* If you're playing the game in actual DOS, it simulates rumbles and explosions by shaking the screen, handled by changing the monitor sync. In DOSBox, you don't see these shakes since DOSBox doesn't emulate a CRT screen. If you can, this game tends to play better on real hardware than it does in DOSBox.
* Even though I'm running the GOG release, I do have the original disks for this game as well, though my original disks are also the later version 2.2 release. Maybe the coupons or buckazoid limits functioned differently in the earlier versions, but all things considered I'd be surprised if they did. If they do indeed function differently in earlier versions, please let me know so I can post the info here.
