I mean, how else are you expected to survive in space aside from being a bird? ;)
Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at Star Goose, aka Stargoose Warrior, an action/arcade shooter developed primarily by Steven Cain and G.P. Everett, originally released by Logotron in the UK in 1988 and by Spinnaker Software in North America in 1989.
Despite the name, the gameplay is pretty straightforward though definitely has some quirks which you need to adapt to in order to survive. While I've seen some people call this game really hard, there's really only a handful of trouble spots where you need to know what's coming ahead of time to survive and then the rest is just being smart about missile usage. :B

Additional Information and Corrections:
* So you don't actually move up or down the screen based on how fast you're moving, your vertical position on the screen is based on the height of the landscape the Star Goose is skimming over; Very easy to get confused on this point. :P
* Not quite sure why the word "Fortunately" caused a massive peak on my mic... I had three takes and ALL of them peaked like mad. :/
* OK, so, when I looped back after the final level I knew I had gone back to an earlier level because of the layout and just assumed it took me back to level 1, but upon reviewing my footage more closely during editing it was CLEARLY level 2 that I was taken back to so I'm not entirely certain what was going on with that. If anyone knows the exact logic behind how this game treats beating the final level, let me know so I can add the info here!
* Yes, level 8 literally spells out "FINAL LEVEL" sideways on the landscape. ;)
