In today's filler video, Gemini's taking a look at a very recently released indie game by Milkstone Studios known as Ziggurat, which is a cross between a magic-based first-person shooter and a dungeon crawl... yes, really.

Additional Information and Corrections:
* Here's a link to the Steam store page where Ziggurat can be purchased:

* There's a handful of tiny glitches in the gameplay footage. Apparently I didn't have all the issues sorted out with getting footage from Bandicam into Sony Movie Studio HD. Although nowadays, I just use OBS to capture footage from games when I need to. :P
* For a good deal of the footage shown I was getting three perk choices instead of two. Two is normal. I was getting three because I was playing as Saiph who has the ability to choose from three right from the get-go, though it's possible to gain this ability as a perk with any other character by random chance. :B
* The motion blur effect can be turned off, though even when running 60 FPS as is normal, the motion blur can be pretty extreme. I'm hoping a feature is added at some point to allow for a more subtle motion blur effect. :B
* If you're having issues with the framerate, trying turning the detail levels UP. Not even kidding about that. Running with lesser detail levels actually reduces my framerate slightly. Dunno what that's all about. :P
* I didn't really go in-depth into some of the room types you can run into, though there's actually not that many. Shrines allow you to pay tribute with your health and/or mana and gain unique shrine-related perks, some of which are good, some of which are bad, and some of which have both positive and negative effects. Treasure rooms often give you a new weapon or perk, but can also sometimes leave you fighting more monsters. Trap rooms just have dangerous stuff to dodge. Danger rooms are like treasure rooms, except you always get TWO treasures, not just one, and you have to make your way through extremely dangerous obstacles. The portal key room is where you get the portal key to trigger the boss fight. Lastly, the scroll rooms house scrolls which provide some insights and give you a little experience.
* As with a lot of dungeon crawls, death is permanent, although you're allowed to have a single save kept and can save between dungeon floors. You do not have to resume this game the next time you play, as you can keep a save stashed away while playing another run, but if you go to save that new run, you'll overwrite your current save.
