Originally Released: September 1st, 2012 ------------------------------------------ Normally I don't like to cover games out of order, but I had to make an exception in this case as I was having issues getting my copy of the original EGA version of the game working at first... stupid copy protection. :P In any case, this game really set the bar towards Sierra's adventure titles and I don't really feel like any other AGI engine titles come close to the same level of dynamic progression without being overly difficult... well... maybe Gold Rush, but I haven't played it... yet... ;) ------------------------------------------ Additional Information and Corrections: * Here's the link to the King's Quest 1+2+3 pack on the Good Old Games website if you wanna get the AGI version: https://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/kings_quest_1_2_3/?pp=91dfde1d6e005e422f64a59776234f1f4c80b5e4 * If you specifically want the SCI version, point you way here on the Steam store: https://store.steampowered.com/app/10100 * Yeah, I stumbled on a couple words during the episode. Had been doing that a bit back when I made this... *shrugs* * Turns out you can entice a goat into following you around in Skyrim too... Maybe I should've said "only DOS game" in the last episode's hint? :P * As with most inventory adventure games, I tried to avoid spoiling too much, since the whole draw of playing these games is to see all the stuff that happens, because once you've done it all, there's no point doing it all again. :/ * Has anyone noticed yet that the CGA panels in the game stats for each game I've covered in Season 2 show the default CGA colour scheme for the game in question? ;) * Turns out that the SCI version did indeed support several other audio and video modes, but the drivers for them aren't included with the 2006 collection for some mysterious reason, which is why I didn't know they existed. :P * There's also a remake of this game, released awhile back by AGD Interactive (no relation to ADG) for modern Windows and Mac computers. If you're interested to learn more about it or download it, here's a link to follow: http://www.agdinteractive.com/games/kq1/about/about.html * I have long since learned not to throw around the word "retarded" anymore and I now regret the instances where it made it into my early ADG videos like this one. Remember, I grew up in the 80s and 90s with that word being used routinely as a casual insult so I never thought anything of it, I just thought it was common vernacular. :/ ------------------------------------------ Pixelmusement Website: http://www.pixelships.com ADG on Pixelmusement: http://www.pixelships.com/adg Alphabetical Index of ADG Episodes: http://www.pixelships.com/adg/index2.html
