PASSIONATE TRASH! 8D
Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemin's taking a look at the train wreck which is The Fortress of Dr. Radiaki, a first person shooter developed primarily by Maelstrom Software, with assistance from Future Vision, and published through Merit Studios in 1994.
This game is absolutely terrible, but I get the distinct impression there was never a serious attempt to make it anything special, that this was more-so just a group of friends pooling their talents to make something for the fun of making it.
But still, to claim any part of your game is somehow BETTER than Doom while using some of the same sound effects... yikes...

Additional Information and Corrections:
* One of the other major issues of the level design is that there's no scenery. None. That's kinda why every level turns into a maze is because the areas you visit in each level have no rhyme or reason to them, they're just blank rooms, sometimes with enemies, health/ammo pickups, or both. Even The Catacombs Abyss had gravestones and other scenery strewn throughout to give each area personality and purpose. :P
* Oh, I didn't really showcase this at all, but if you hold the button down to open a door for longer than SPLIT SECOND, the door will rapidly open and close like crazy. :B
