Yes, I'm well aware I got the HOTAS acronym wrong. I still have no idea how I made that mistake. :P
In any case though, they always say it's good to have the right tool for the right job. In the case of PC gaming, there are three kinds of devices which are essential if you're going to play the entire range of genres: A flight stick, an arcade stick, and a gamepad. So, this is just a quick video to show what my own selection is like. ;)

Additional Information and Corrections:
* Something you may've noticed by now is that sometimes in these filler videos it sounds as though I randomly cut the audio from one line of thought to another. Those... are not actually cuts. That's seriously the way I talk when I'm thinking what I want to say as I go along.
* Word of caution. The Intec Combat Arcade Stick is advertised as a PS3 stick, but it hasn't actually worked with PS3s for quite awhile now since a particular firmware update. I think this is why I was able to get mine new-in-box and clearance priced for dirt cheap. :B
* If having the full throttle assembly and everything seems a bit much, for the same price, Thrustmaster offers a more standardized joystick with a throttle slider instead of an actual throttle, with buttons arranged on the base, called the T.Flight Stick X.
* I always try my joysticks and gamepads out with new games just to see how well they work. Most of the time, keyboard and/or mouse control just seems the best approach, but every so often a game plays MUCH better with one of the joysticks. Great DOS games to try with a HOTAS joystick include Terminal Velocity, Radix: Beyond the Void, and pretty much any first-person game where you have in-game throttle control. 2D Shooters and Fighting games usually work best with a gamepad or arcade stick. (One Must Fall 2097 being a big exception; gotta go keyboard with that one!)
