Why just rule the railroads when you could rule ALL transportation? ;) Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at Transport Tycoon Deluxe, a sort of sequel to Railroad Tycoon (despite that game getting a proper sequel in the late 90s) made by Chris Sawyer Productions and published through MicroProse originally in 1994, with the Deluxe version coming out in 1995. While this game's definitely a step up from Railroad Tycoon in a lot of ways, it's also more difficult when facing the AI opponents, but you can also customize the difficulty to an extreme degree and disable them to just play this more like a software toy than proper game, so there's definitely enjoyment to be had here so long as the nature of the game appeals to you! :B ------------------------------------------ Additional Information and Corrections: * One of the more interesting features I forgot to elaborate on is the Jukebox. You actually have a considerable level of control over which music is played and can set up all kinds of options regarding this, plus change which song is playing anytime you want! * There technically IS a way to play this game nowadays digitally for free, as there's a game out there called "OpenTTD" which is apparently an open-source remake of this game with various tweaks and updates to the original gameplay... but the legality of it has me somewhat worried. Admittedly, from the looks of it, it doesn't look to be a 1-to-1 copy of the original game's assets, but that doesn't matter if a copyright holder argues that your product has created market confusion because it's TOO similar.
