Is it still technically an adver-game if you have to actually pay money for it...? :P
Today for Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look back at the first Ford Simulator, developed by the SoftAd Group and published by the Ford Motor Company back in 1987 to promote their 1988 range of vehicles.
All things considered, it was a fair attempt at direct marketing and Ford clearly saw some level of success given that they would keep up with new versions of the simulator for YEARS, each going a step further than what had come before.

Additional Information and Corrections:
* If you'd like to grab a copy of this game for yourself, follow this link to the DOS Games website:

* So there's a possible explanation for the lack of a Ford Simulator 4... I've been informed that Ford Simulator 3 actually had TWO releases, a 1.0 and a 1.1 release, and that the two different versions do have some differences between them, notably the selection of vehicles, and that this was the only time considerable changes were made to an existing version of the program. Clearly more info is needed but that could be an explanation if it turns out a Ford Simulator 4 doesn't actually exist. :B
