So... if this alien race has no nudity taboo, why are all the men wearing loincloths? In today's episode of Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at Albion, a German-made RPG produced and published in 1995 by Blue Byte Software, then later translated and released into the North American market in 1996. This is actually a pretty incredible game in terms of graphics and story. The gameplay however has a seriously steep learning curve, not that it's bad but it takes a lot of practice and a lot of trial and error before the player can start making actual progress, more-so than I gave myself time to attempt. Still, there's a lot to see in the first dozen hours of gameplay, even when you don't get very far, so this episode focusses more on the story and technical aspects than on progression. Also, just a reminder: YouTube has very vague policies when it comes to what kind of nudity is allowed in videos, so even though the level of nudity in this game is ultimately fairly minor, I still would rather err on the side of caution. :P ------------------------------------------ Additional Information and Corrections: * So... a few people seem to think I'm being prudish with my comment mid-video about the alien boobs. On the contrary, I was just making a joke about how the ESRB seemingly missed this, as by their standards at the time even the slightest amount of nudity would've spiked the rating up! My personal view on the whole thing is the same as many have pointed out: That being offended by nudity is stupid and that it makes little sense that in North America nudity is somehow considered worse than violence. I un-reversed it for this video but it's something to keep in mind when you go to play it yourself. * The Iskai people in this game actually have better sight than Humans do, so when you're exploring a dark area in 3D, switching your leader to an Iskai will let you see better than you currently can.
