Not exactly Tiny Toons... :P
This week for No-Nostalgia Retro Gaming the votes are for "Mayhem in Monsterland", a late C64 platformer put out by Apex in 1993 which has a dual-world mechanic, where you start off in a "sad" version of a level, then after collecting enough stuff and going to the right spot you convert it into a "happy" version of the level.
Starts out nice and fun but the level design rapidly gets very evil...
BTW: For those commenting that I missed a powerup in the first level to give me a special dash ability I need for the rest of the game... so... I did a whole bunch of checking to figure out what the heck was going on here and it turns out... I actually DID get the powerup. It was on-screen for literally ONE FRAME in my raw footage as it was a drop from an enemy early in the happy variant of the stage and I had immediately grabbed it without seeing it because 1 frame in a 50 FPS game is extremely easy to miss. :P
