I still find it very unusual that this game doesn't support EGA graphics... Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at the very first Wheel of Fortune game released for DOS back in 1987, developed and published by a company known as ShareData, based on the popular TV game show of the same name. This is actually a pretty faithful adaptation, with only the most minor quirks, though it suffers the same fate most game show adaptations do in that because you're not winning real, tangible prizes, the "game" falls flat. That said though, it served as a nice introduction to trying out some deep analysis stuff planned for the next season of ADG! :) ------------------------------------------ Additional Information and Corrections: * The "Design Analysis" segment is not ACTUALLY what's going to be showing up in ADG next season, but instead it's more an example of some new kind of content which is going to be showing up alongside the regular reviews! ;) * One thing I forgot to mention: If an AI player wins the game, instead of advancing to the bonus round they'll decline and the reason for declining is always ridiculous, like health concerns or tax purposes. ;D * The way the game saves data is bizarre. Basically, it tracks the champion state of previous players and when you start a new game you can choose to be a returning champion if your state is still saved, but it only tracks a small number of prior players, so once you're scrolled out of that list your total score is gone forever and you have to start anew.
