As a DOS gamer, sometimes you just have to buck up and admit that it was better on the Amiga... Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at Gods, a platformer developed by The Bitmap Brothers in 1991 and ported to DOS in 1992 with publishing assistance from Konami, though there was a second DOS release in 2000, surprisingly, by Crucial Entertainment, which is byte-for-byte the exact same game. Gods is not a bad game, but it can be incredibly infuriating your first time playing as a lot of your progress is tied to memorizing all the tricky spots, but also to finding tons and tons of secrets, many of which are not obvious in the slightest, not helped by some control issues which make the DOS version even harder to play than it should be. ------------------------------------------ Additional Information and Corrections: * Alas, the license to the remastered game expired at the end of March 2022 and has not been renewed, thus the game is no longer available in that form. :/ * The intro music which I intentionally omitted for copyright reasons is actually a licensed title by the name of "Into the Wonderful" by Nation XII.
