It may look simplistic, but remember that this pre-dates System Shock! :o
Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at an unreleased game by the name of Transland, originally developed internally at Origin Systems in 1994 as a means for some of the staff to learn the ins and outs of 3D game development, eventually being released unfinished and as-is in 1996.
Despite being unfinished, there's a number of curiosities hidden within this thing, many of which have been lost to time. I've done my best to recover what I can, but there's absolutely more locked away and it'd be really cool to see those hidden features unravelled and unlocked someday!

Additional Information and Corrections:
* WE HAVE ACCESS TO THE EDITOR!! Basically, just run the game in its debugging mode (without the "i" command line parameter) and the F1 through F10 keys access it! I swear I tried this during my testing and found nothing but it definitely works so I must've done something earlier on which prevented that from working. Shout out to "moralrecordings" over on Twitter for figuring this out!

* Here's a link to the page on the DOS Games site you can download this game from:

* In case you missed it, the only PC Speaker sound is a simple beep whenever you select a different location to teleport to on the world map. Everything else is digitized.
* Upon closer inspection, those "sharks" in the ice world may actually be alligators or crocodiles. Whoops. :P
