Even the manual admits the name of this game might be somewhat confusing... :P
Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at CyClones, a first person shooter developed by Raven Software at the same time as they were developing Heretic, published through Strategic Simulations (SSI) in 1994.
This game should, by almost every metric, be a good game... but it fails hard due to some severe issues, all of which feel like the game was pushed out the door before it was ready, especially when contrasted with things which were written into the manual which either didn't make the cut, or in one case, DID make the cut but only in a partially working state! Additional Information and Corrections:
* This game is now available on GOG for $5! Thus if you want a cheap digital copy, simply follow this link:

* Another extreme frustration I failed to mention in the video is that sometimes necessary things to interact with in the level DO NOT cause the cursor to react by changing colour; you just have to guess that because a wall looks "different" it's going to have a reaction of some sort when you click on it. Sometimes this isn't too egregious, but other times it's downright evil. :/
