Not quite so difficult to calculate when the enemies are worth ZERO points... :o In today's Ancient DOS Games Pro video, Gemini's going back to the original Commander Keen trilogy once again, this time to determine what the minimum winning score of each of the three games are, or rather, how low the score can be while still successfully clearing each game. This means finding the best routes through the overworld, figuring out where any extra points might come from besides scoring items, and determining which sources of points can be avoided and which cannot. ------------------------------------------ Additional Information and Corrections: * OK, so... it's TECHNICALLY possible to skip a chocolate bar when dealing with the Tantalus Ray targeting Sydney in Episode 2, HOWEVER, the level of precision required to pull off the jumps necessary is BEYOND difficult, as it requires pulling off one straight-up pogo ascension, followed immediately by another which requires precise height control by letting go of the jump button with specific timing, then requires doing an extremely tight jump which also requires specific timing for pressing AND releasing the jump button. That's one move requiring sub-pixel and timing precision, followed by a move requiring sub-pixel, timing, and frame-perfect precision, followed by a move requiring timing and double-frame-perfect precision. So yes, it CAN be done, but it's so freaking hard no average person should ever be expected to attempt it. (Though I'm told some experts can pull this all off without breaking a sweat...
