You already have a successful game, a game engine powering it an array of model meshes and sound effects and HUD elements, it would be impossible to screw up a sequel with all of that, right? ...RIGHT??
Well, today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries, the follow-up to the original MechWarrior 2, developed by Activision and released in the latter half of 1996, and while this game has a ton of content, there's enough technical issues here to rival Daggerfall. :P

Additional Information and Corrections:
* One of the neat features I neglected to mention is that there are seven points on the HUD you can change to one of numerous different displays. This modular format for the HUD is probably why certain aspects like the graphical altimeter are missing and why the heat gauge is now a circle instead of a line.
* This was COMPLETELY unplanned, but apparently, I released my original review of MechWarrior 2 EXACTLY five years ago! :O
