A fox without a tail? What new spore of madness is THIS?! 8O
Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at Titus the Fox, a platformer made by Titus Software in 1992 as a reskin of an earlier game they made in 1991 based around French celebrity Vincent Lagaf.
The usual opinion I hear about this game is that it's "painfully average", but the truth about it is actually quite a bit different...

Additional Information and Corrections:
* Here's a link to GOG if you want to pick up a copy of this game for yourself:

* I once again made the mistake of assuming that the main gameplay was 256-colours... and it technically is. The game starts up in a 256-colour VGA mode and does NOT switch out from it, yet the main gameplay is only using 16 colours! :o
* The Gameboy and GBC versions also appear to have lots more graphics of Titus added to them, plus they actually did give Titus a tail in the artwork for the GBC version, so I have a funny feeling those may be the best ones to go with over the DOS original.
* When it comes to figuring out what the proper aspect ratio is when a game uses weird video mode alterations, I just use the box as a point of reference! By comparing the aspect ratio of the screenshots on the back of the box for this game I was able to determine that the main gameplay is indeed supposed to be running with a 1:1 pixel aspect! ;)
* For those curious, my favourite animals from first to fourth favourite are: Foxes, Rabbits, Bears and Raccoons. After that, it's a bit of a jumble. :P
